Music
Being a musician means much more than simply knowing what notes to play. It entails knowing how to connect with your audience. It means knowing how to promote yourself, your music and your performances. It requires communicating with the other players on stage only through body movement. Most importantly, it teaches you how to tap into your passion and drive and use it on any project you embark on.

In sophomore year of high school, my three closest friends and I created a rock band called Elastic Blur. Through playing shows in the Philadelphia area and winning a battle of the bands competition with our original music, we were able to fund our first album In Plain Sight and our second album Out of the Sudden. You can listen to our most recent music on the right.

Part of the reason I can communicate so well and perform with all of my heart is because of School of Rock. Taking guitar lessons, vocal lessons, and performing in shows there for five years taught me mostly everything I know about being a musician. Whether it was from on-stage experience with dealing with a song gone wrong or realizing how to effectively manage a group of people, being a student at this school helped shape the person I am today both professionally and musically.

Explore some of my recording and mixing projects below! Learning how to mix and alter audio into what I want it to be, as a musician, makes me feel like I have more control over the artistic work I am creating.
I decided to recreate one of my band's songs, Reaching, in an 8-bit format. Sounding reminiscent of the soundtrack to a classic arcade game, I used softsynth samplers, intervals of white noise, and many effects to construct this song in this form.
This track, White Oceans, was recorded on an old Reel-to-reel tape machine with tape delay. Myself and two of my friends recorded the guitar in this piece. Many low pass filters were added to give this audio experience an underwater atmosphere. Enjoy this relaxing and free form piece!
This next piece is not a song but an audio travel story; a story that tells itself not through dialogue but through atmosphere and layers of audio. Take a listen to The Bus Ride below!
In my honors Computer Engineering Digital Design course, I was able to complete a lab project on a topic of my choosing. My interest in the music of the 1970's made by artists such as Styx and Yes naturally led me to researching synthesizer design. Below is a paper I wrote regarding the square wave synthesizer, amplifier and three-band equalizer I created. The left panel showcases a video of the design.

These videos' audio tracks has been filtered as the synthesizer was quite loud.
